I've been trying to minimize my wardrobe for the past two years, and while I definitely have made huge progress, I've also kept a bunch of "Maybe" clothes in a separate closet for a while.
Well, yesterday I was inspired to go through them once and for all and behold, got rid of another two bags of clothes. Considering how much I've already downsized my wardrobe, this is a big deal.
I was left with a closet of things I truly love to wear and I, well, love it. I won't lie, there's a couple items sitting down in those entryway bags that I'm tempted to unearth and put back in my closet, but it's more of a "I might want to wear this" rather than a "I love that item." Definitely need to get them out of the house as soon as possible before I change my mind.
I just need to find a better way to store the "summer only" items like tank tops and shorts (and conversely, winter-only items such as sweaters once the warm weather arrives.) Right now they're just shoved into a cubby in the closet:
All in all, I am really happy with how everything looks and the clothes hanging in my closet. A light bulb moment for me was realizing that it would work better to hang everything up and go through it that way rather than the KonMari method. (Which I've done multiple times. but I felt like I had gotten as far as I could doing it that way.) Being able to see exactly what I had all grouped by type (sweater, t-shirt, leggings, etc.) made it a lot easier to prune.
So, week three lessons:
1.) Changing my method of decluttering clothes gave me a nice "breakthrough" and took my wardrobe to the next level.
2.) My office closet is still a disaster and needs to be the next target. It's a LOT better than the first time I decluttered it, but still not the nicely organized closet I'd like it to be. I'll be tackling it this coming week.
3.) I'm still having trouble decluttering my memorabilia further even though I don't even look at 99% of it and it just sits in a box.

It's worth it though to open my closet and see this:
